‘I am Sami’ – On location in Kurdistan

‘I am Sami’ is a UK & Kurdish co-production, shot on location in Kurdistan – Northern Iraq. The film is Directed by Kae Bahar and Produced by Jackie Sheppard and Mark Blaney of Footprint Films.

Filming out in Kurdistan was an incredible experience and such an amazing location to shoot. The film included some classic military set pieces, a Humvee rolling into a packed market place and a night incursion sequence with fully equipped American soldiers. We shot on the Red Epic with a set of Red Pro Primes.

‘The Light’ – 1950′s Short Film

We’ve just wrapped on the UK location shoot for ‘The Light’, a short film, set in 1950′s America that centres around the McCarthy Red Scare era. To give the film a vintage feel we decided to pay homage to some 1950′s filmmaking techniques by using rear projection for the car sequence. We shot on the Arri Alexa with Ultra Primes. Directed by Si Cookson and Produced by Luke Walton & Jackie Sheppard of Reel Issues Films. We are due to shoot the end sequence of the film, out in the Tabernas Desert – Spain, next month.
